mpich software package provides Implementation of the MPI Message Passing Interface standard, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mpich
mpich is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mpich package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mpich *
You will get with mpich package name, version, architecture and description in a table
